John Nofsinger's Career in Higher Education

Formerly on the faculty at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, John Nofsinger has considerable experience conducting research and instructing students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Nofsinger's research falls principally in the area of socially responsible finance and corporate governance. This research underpins his pedagogy, as he teaches international business and personal finance as well as behavioral finance. Currently, John Nofsinger holds the William H. Seward Endowed Chair in Finance at the University of Alaska Anchorage.Nofsinger also presents his findings in the public arena. He authors a blog for Psychology Today called Mind on My Money and has appeared on multiple radio and television news programs. John Nofsinger also has several trade books to his credit, including Investment Blunders (of the Rich and Famous)... And What You Can Learn From Them. He has further contributed to his field by co-authoring several textbooks. His first, the Psychology of Investing, is in its fifth edition since its original publication in 2002 and has been translated into five languages.
Outside of academics, Nofsinger enjoys several leisure pursuits. He is an enthusiast of non-competitive cycling and competitive running. He also follows professional football, particularly the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers.
